A large group of robins descended on us the other day. Not sure why as they are a migratory bird that comes in spring and they are carnivores, usually pecking for worms. Now the ground is frozen so the pecking is not all that productive except to pull up rotten seeds under the feeder. Somehow we’re so unused to seeing this bird in winter that they looked quite spectacular on the ground.
