Anne’s Yoga toes
Sunday, July 3rd, 2005
We’re sitting around, having afternoon summer cocktails and I notice that my wife can spread her toes in ways I can’t even think about let alone do. I can’t spread my toes sideways at all. She says I can learn to do this by practice. Man, that’s a lot of practice.

Hi Richard,
Looks like your wife has been getting her Yoga practice in! For those of us who don’t have the time (or balance) to practive Yoga regularly, “Yoga Toes” will create similar effects by strengthening and stretching your toes, as well as helping to relive painful and disfiguring foot conditions like bunions and hammertoe. Here’s a link to our site so you and your wife can check them out:

Thanks B., looks interesting. I’ll show this to my wife.
Richard,
Flexible toes maybe a hereditary condition which also means that your feet are prone to bunions.
I would be interested to know if you wife practices yoga and if so how long has she been doing so.

Susan: my wife does practice yoga and she’s been at it for about 3 years. Many years before that she was a semi-serious modern dancer. That’s to say that she’s comfortable in her body and has always been relatively flexible.
That said, she took up yoga initially because she suffers from seasonal affective disorder (the darker winter days change her mood) and she was looking for something to combat that. So, she got a full spectrum reading light and started a yoga class. For her, the particular teacher she had made a difference (always does) and the fact that yoga in this particular class was not being looked at as a newer age substitute for aerobics (a workout) but as a meditative, integrative practice that might have bigger benefits than just getting in shape. It had the desired effect and even though that particular charismatic teacher moved out of the area, my wife knows what she needs and has found another teacher and group who she enjoys working with. She still hates winter in Connecticut but looks forward to driving (in the snow) to yoga. I’d say “sads” is gone.
And, being who she is, she’s gently told me that I should consider coming to her class once in a while (I’m physically wound tight) but has never pushed. Maybe someday…
Richard,
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear the yoga is working for her. This is the first time I have heard of it as a help for SAD but I don’t doubt it. Let us know if you decide to give it a try.

favor de indicarme si el producto yoga toes lo venden en mexico
gracias
Adriana: Yoga toes is not a product, it is a photograph.
Las puntas del yoga no son un producto, él son una fotografía.
Richard,
Sorry but the correct sentence will be: Los pies en postura de yoga no son un producto. La imagen es una fotografia de los pies de mi esposa.
Next time consult your Spanish speaking friend… “puntas” means “points” and “el” means “he”
Thanks Mamen… Ugh.
