Reflections on Evelyn’s Pond
Tuesday, July 5th, 2005
Went down to Evelyn’s house to practice surdo (Brazilian bass drum) with her and brought camera just in case. It was a great day to have done it and I took numerous interesting photographs. These two are 100% reflection in her pond.
There’s just enough ripple from Evelyn swimming in this shot to give it a Monet look. I’d say it’s my best reflection shot yet.

As usual, your photos look great. Have you ever tried capturing only the green part of those reeds (or whatever you call thos plants) or making a crop without the brownish parts? That would create a very nice pattern without any pointers to the source of the pattern.
I tried cropping that way but wasn’t as pleased with the result. I know what you mean though, it’s a good idea. I do, however, like the inverted horizonline: it’s like this is a non-reflected picture turned upside down. To do this, the more reference points I have in it the better.
True.
