Lunch with a finch
Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005
A “gang” of finches know where the action is at an outside lunch place in Santa Monica. This dude tried to intimidate me into giving up my lunch.
He tried to look cute, hoping for food.
I tossed him a piece of my tortilla “wrap” and he squawked. Can’t tell if he was approving or calling me a tightwad.
Without finishing it, he dropped it and looked at me for the next installment. I told him I only deal with finches who belong to the “clean ground club.” He took off leaving a mess for me to clean up.

Those are great pictures of the bird it looks so sharp and clear. Almost like you can reach out and touch it
Ross: thanks, he was very close, just beyond my feet. Very bold too, hungry little buggar.
He probably squawked because being a seed eater, he needs crisp, small bites. ;-)
