Anne pours “love tea”
Monday, December 12th, 2005
Monday afternoon is a good time to deliver love tea to my wife Anne at work. When I showed up with it today she smiled warmly and appreciatively and I sprung into action with camera to document the unique pouring system of this small thermos. Am I a geek or what?

i remember that tea well; you taught me to brew it almost ~ 17 years ago….lazy as i am, i now buy premixed chai…btw, great shot – impressive detail of anne’s hand and figure-ground (not sure that’s photo lingo, but you know what i mean)
holiday cheer,
will
Will: really? I taught you how to make it? Amazing, I figured you must have taught me but I know who it was, an amazing woman named Julia Tamang (married to a Sherpa) out in Oregon.
Glad you like the image, I do too. The background blur is called “bokeh” a Japenese word that photographers have taken over. Very high quality “fast” lenses can open up wide to create very shallow depth of field and the resulting blur is called bokeh. Flickr has numerous groups just about bokeh, it’s one of those things some people crave. I happen to be one of them.
