Cat or raccoon?

Our cat Kitty curled up by the wood stove and when she woke up, well, she looked like this (face full of wood ash). Of course, she jumped up onto the table and took a bath on the new sweater Anne is knitting which will have the added “features” of cat hair and wood ash stuck to it forever.
As you can see, she’s not too pleased with me capturing a picture of her in this state.
