High Desert Water Sculpture

Above Utah. When looked at abstractly the “fingers” on the edge of this offset in geography remind me of the coast of Maine where rivers empty out into the ocean and make for a jagged shoreline. This jagged edge is similar in that water and erosion over time made it what it is. In fact, much of the shape of our geography is water sculpture.

I stumbled upon your site from a post on Doc Searls site after reading about reboot8. As I go through the site I am astounded at the quality of the images. I travel often and have tried to get images of the quality you have here and have always failed. Congratulations on succeeding so well. I’ve bookmarked your site and look forward to more interesting images and the insightful commentary that comes with it.

Larry, thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind words. I’m currently working on another site to better display my best images and if you’d like to take a peek it’s here. Don’t talk it up quite yet, it’s still under construction and will change a lot in the next few days but I hope to announce it more formally both here and on flickr soon.
I just took a look at your site and your flickr feed. Are you shooting film? Amazing saturation on your images and the border makes them look scanned. I also added you as a contact, thanks for that.
Any comments and feedback on my new site will be most appreciated. You can email them to me directly at richard at richardsnotes dot org.
Thanks again.
