Squash?

Jackson Heights, New York. These are (I think) some kind of exotic squash at an outdoor Indian grocery. If not squash then cucumbers. If not cucumbers then miniature Zeppelins.

Okra? Otherwise known as Ladies Fingers. Often found in Indian curries.
Something I’ve just discovered : okra is Swahili for Gumbo! I’ve often heard of the word Gumbo but didn’t know I knew what it was!!! (If you see what I mean!) Okra is not high on my ‘favourite vegetables’ list but I gather it is a ‘powerhouse’ of valuable nutrients. Maybe I’ll look out for it on the menu the next time I ‘go for a curry’ (as we say over here).
