Why I have no pens

Warren, Connecticut. Our 16 year old cat somehow made it up onto my desk and found my favorite pen (uni-ball vision elite) and proceeded to bat it around, messing up all of my important papers and walking across the computer’s keyboard a few times. Instead of picking her up and tossing her on the floor I picked up the camera to document the moment. I enjoy seeing how long she can keep the pen on a table before she knocks it off.
I’m fascinated watching cats play with toys and objects they make into toys. I can never decide if it’s rehearsal for the hunt or it’s recreation. Maybe for a cat the hunt IS recreation.
Having knocked most of my papers on the floor, batted my best pen into the trash can, walked on my keyboard, and pulled the MagSafe connector out of the MacBook Pro, the Kitty is looking out into the office for more prey from the high ground of my desk. A cat’s work is never done.

Absolutely! Thats why cats need frequent naps. They have to rest from the hard work of making sure that objects are stored in appropriate places (papers on the floor, pens under the sofa) and the frustrating tasks of training their humans.
Jessica: Good point. We must not disturb their naps lest they do a poor job messing up our desks. Gotta keep things on a professional level.
