Sheryl: First, you can always ask me to edit or delete a comment, any time. Not hard to do and I'm glad to do it.

Second, the problem in this country is if the Democrats square off with Bush and try to stop the "plan" then they, in effect, may own the problem come the next election. If they let him go ahead they're called a "do nothing congress" and they lose as well. It's a tough place for them to be right now, politically.

I doubt Bush has an IQ of 88, but he does have what we might call "hardening of the categories" in that he seems incapable of seeing things in more detail than stark black and white. Thinking like this can lead to confrontations that might make things escalate rather quickly to a nuclear war and if that happened the above refrenced picture might be more common than it is now. Ugh.

Yeah-- I thought about my nuclear winter comment last night after I had sent it.. can't take email back-- But- the starkness of the photo, the way the trees seem to be holding back their three dimensions and somehow refusing us. It's quite an image.

And yes, I think the man has taken leave of his senses completely. He is said to have an IQ of 88. Unable to think logically---- Which is not such a big problem unless you are "the most powerful man in the world."

Nuclear winter 'eh Sheryl... sort of timely that you see it that way given Mr. Bush's "way forward" (or should I say backward).
