I like to ride the subway without a map and get off about every second or third stop. Each time coming up the steps it’s like being in a completely new place. I spend thirty minutes shooting or more, then get back on. It’s always a great adventure. Thanks for the link.
Susan: Which train do you like and are there places you might not get off?
The 1, the 4 and the F if I remember right. I’ve only been three times so I’m not too savvy with regard to what’s typically safe. I wouldn’t have a problem getting off anywhere but I can imagine a scenario that would hasten my return to the train. That could be just about anywhere I suppose.
Thanks Susan, I’ll keep those trains in mind.
One of my favorite walks is to start up in Soho, walk down through Little Italy through Chinatown and around the government area on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Then, if the weather’s nice, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. I’ve done it three times now and I see new things each time.
I did a similar walk (without crossing the bridge) once and ended up getting a man on the street in Chinatown, to fix my shoe. His skill was impressive and he charged me an unbelievable three dollars.
Susan: Wow, great story. Mott Street is famous for stuff like that, and $4 Rolex watches.
