A close shave at the Cairo barber’s: “Middle East producer Jon Donnison surprised on his first visit to a barber in Egypt.”
If there is one thing worse than an unfamiliar barber it is a blind one. But that is who greeted me at the door on my first trip to an Egyptian barbershop.
Incredible.

He he! A great read - reminds me of my haircut on Koh Tao, a small remote island off the main coast of Thailand, where I sat in a very old barber’s chair in a hut. The barber was smoking something very fragrant, and I don’ t think it was Drum tobacco ;-)
Jon: All the better to get a good haircut and hopefully the secondary smoke made you not care either. I’m jealous of these kinds of adventures, I haven’t had them in a while but at some point hope to get back into travel outside of this country.
