Apple iPhone Keyboard Video

The Apple iPhone Keyboard Video shows how much technology is built into iPhone and it’s impressive. My guess is that some of these advances will make it into OS X.5 (Leopard).
One of the biggest worries from many reviewers and pundits is the lack of a physical keyboard on the iPhone. Many think it will be awkward to use an on-screen keyboard but this video seems to prove that wrong. Time will tell.
The only piece I found counterintuitive was tapping the spacebar to accept a suggested word and tapping the word itself to dismiss it. That seems backwards to me but I’ve never touched the thing so what do I know?
Reckon this is the virtual keyboard that will appear on an upcoming MacXXX subnote laptop, with a screen in the same plane as is AlphaSmart’s Neo, but with no mechanicals and much more space for the screen. It will change the whole concept of laptops. Brian.
Hi Brian. I didn’t think of that. In other words, you think Apple is working on what used to be called a “tablet PC,” or, something like that.
I’m not quite sure… Me thinks they’re working on a solid state MacBook sans hard disk but not about about sans keyboard. Time will tell, it always does.
Still, this iPhone keyboard video is convincing, very well done.
Yep … but think of a full-size keyboard ‘on screen’ which can be used in exactly the same way as a real one? No mechanicals, less weight, etc …
Well, you might have something there. And, when the keyboard goes away they just pull it out of software. Cool idea. Time will tell.
