Purple Coneflower After a Rain
Tuesday, July 17th, 2007
Warren, Connecticut. A friend called me up and told me I had to come over and photograph some Asian lilies after a rain. I must say, the droplets on the assorted shapes and colors looked fantastic and I did get some nice shots. However, I found my old friend the coneflower (echinacea) there too and gravitated toward a small clump of them. This flower is easier to photograph as it’s wide open with short stamen and wide open petals. I guess one can say that certain flowers make better models because of the way they’re built. Interesting.
Update: this image is part of a set of coneflowers I have up on flickr.
