Gary shoots ground fog
Warren, Connecticut. One day while Gary was visiting we got up early to catch the sunrise at Macricostas Preserve of the Steep Rock Land Trust down the road. On the way we stopped to shoot ground fog on a big lawn. Stupid us, we both were too lazy to put polarizers on but I liked the way this came out anyway and it’s a nice reminder of Gary, one of my oldest and dearest friends who I now have to wait another whole year to see again (unless of course he decides to come back here for the Holidays, hint, hint).
Gary in a primordial meadow
Washington, Connecticut. Gary and I got down to the Macricostas Preserve of the Steep Rock Land Trust early enough to shoot in low light and I took this picture of him shooting wildflowers from the east looking west (the sun is coming up behind me). It was an amazing morning and I’m only sorry that many of our pictures didn’t capture the feeling. Later we had our encounter with some friendly butterflies near the right edge of this frame.
Gary makes a friend
Washington, Connecticut. On the north end of the main meadow of the Macricostas Preserve of the Steep Rock Land Trust Gary and I set up shop to shoot a bend in Bee Brook. As soon as we set up this friendly butterfly landed on his leg and I alerted him to it. It then flew up onto his camera and the fun began. A few minutes passed and another butterfly joined this one and between the two of them they kept us busy for another hour: Butterfly on Tripod, Butterfly on Tripod Head.
