Asiatic Lily Jungle

Warren, Connecticut. A friend called at the end of a rainy day and said that she knew where there was a yard full of Asiatic lilies that were in full bloom and that I should pack up my camera gear and get over quick between downpours. It was a perfect day: broken clouds, small bits of low angle sunlight breaking through, wet atmosphere, and water droplets on the flowers. And, I had her eye to help me find interesting plants. I took my time and took in all the great shapes and colors. I didn’t even notice that I was being eaten by mosquitoes until I got home.

re: Purple Flower in Asiatic Lily Jungle…i’m a sucker for shots like this, foreground sharp, background out of focus…background is striking w/that color riot…nice work richard!
Thanks Will, I am too and so, fast lenses, get out on overcast days to get saturated color.
A fine series here Richard. Wow, you’ve captured these lovely flowers beautifully. Spectacular color. The clouds and wet atmosphere created some excellent lighting for you.
Thanks Gary, now to see how it looks on a card.
