How do these guys sleep at night?

It should be reqired of every American to visit the troops they say they “support” at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Ward 57, the amputee section. My close friend Staff Sergeant Luke Murphy just spent a year there after almost losing his life— at age 24.

For anyone interested, Luke is featured in a powerful documentary about the 101st Airborne Division called “I Am an American Soldier”. The trailer for the film can be seen online, and Luke is the guy who you see the most in it.

sheryl: Maybe before every American goes to Walter Reed they could write their congress-idiots and ask to have Bush and Cheney impeached, then tried as war criminals.

well– everyone is asleep at the wheel. Never mind that there are over 3,600 dead, but there are 30,000 Americans maimed and brain damaged. It took a visit to the hospital for me to really get it.

When you go there and see a 20 year old kid walking on two prosthetic legs with one arm and one eye, then you can really visualize impeachment and war crimes trials.

so yes, write your congress-idiots on your way out the door.

Richard you need to go with your camera. Remember that it was the photograph of the little Vietnamese girl running away from the napalm that woke us up the last time.
