Javits Center, inside and out
Sunday, October 21st, 2007
New York City. I was leaving the PhotoExpo show at the Javits Center and happened to look up while on an escalator. I’ve been in this building dozens of times yet never really appreciated what a complex and beautiful structure it is. The symmetry and complexity of the internal superstructure on this huge glass ceiling struck me as amazing so I got off the escalator and just looked at it for a moment, then took this picture.
Another view of the same image.
As we left Javits and PhotoExpo I think all of us took this shot of the city in sunset reflected on the glass wall. I love the idea that you can both see the inside atmosphere and outside atmosphere behind me in a single shot, as if it were an overlay. No trick photography here, just the Javits darkened glass making a nice reflector.

i love that first photo with lines all over the place beautiful.
thanks
