Morning backlight on fruit
Friday, November 2nd, 2007
Warren, Connecticut. Most of this fruit will go into apple pies we’ll bake this weekend. The small pears on the left are seckel or sugar pears and they’re just for eating, not for the pie (and they are fantastic). Behind the bosc pears (sweet) on the right are hard, yellow quinces which smell divine and add tartness to the pie mix. Behind them are a variety of apples: rome, Cortland (large, soft, sweet), northern spy, spy-gold (large, hard, less sweet), and greening (small, hard, tart).

Please no more …… I love Apple Pie!!! :-P
I look forward to the pie shots, yum!
Jon: If you love apple pie you’ll really love Anne’s apple pie. It’s quite amazing. Hopefully I’ll get my hands clean from time to time in the peeling process to get some shots of the pieces going together. Stay tuned…
Richard- YOU are an inspiration!
Judging from the number of comments on all your pie/fruit/bread photos, it’s obvious that we are all starving in body and spirit for good old fashioned home made food.
Listen everyone– it doesn’t take long to make a pie– especially with help. One or two tv shows worth of time, for ten times the satisfaction. I’m gonna find some apples today and treat the family–(and myself!)
THANKS RICHARD AND ANNIE!!! xoxo
PS. R-I’m looking forward to the pie pictures.
Sheryl, glad you like these. I’ll try to get some pie shots too. Stay tuned, tomorrow is pie day.
