Sunrise on prayer flags
Wednesday, November 7th, 2007
Warren, Connecticut. We bought these prayer flags at a Tibet festival over the summer.
"Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom."
I can’t speak for any of you but we here in the US need to be hanging a lot of these prayer flags. I don’t think we could hang enough to make up for what we’ve been doing in the world.
Namaste

true or maybe people should get everyone around to go vote in the next election, teach your kids the importance of voting.
Edward: absolutely but voting and even the right person (whoever that is) winning doesn’t do enough to make up for what we’ve done. We must pro-actively work to undo as much of it as possible and not wait for political (non) leadership. Each person should do his or her part, even if it’s nothing more than putting up a prayer flag or two and posting to a blog. Every little bit of energy and attention helps.
Thanks R… for the photo and for your comment. Whenever I see prayer flags I’m reminded that people are essentially good, and that even our smallest effort towards peace connects us with others in ways we might not fully understand.
LJ: Amen.
