Dried Leaf in Snow

Warren, Connecticut. We took a hike in the woods the other day and found numerous leaves that must have been stuck on trees and had fallen off after a recent snow.
Some of us may miss summer and find winter hard going but let this leaf be your icon for the fact that the winter solstice has happened and the days are getting longer and soon (here on the east coast of the US) it will be 2008 which, if it’s like every other year, will bring spring, summer and fall.
