David Byrne’s Survival Strategies for Emerging Artists — and Megastars

WIRED magazine has a great article I read this morning: David Byrne’s Survival Strategies for Emerging Artists — and Megastars.
It’s a modern version of Nicholas Negroponte’s “atoms vs. bits” with the trad music industry being atoms (CDs and such) and the new music industry (or lack of industry) being bits (digital).

Good read, Richard. Thanks. I’ve always had a good deal of respect for David Byrne.
Yes, it’s a great read and even though it restates things that Negroponte has been spouting in an ivory tower sort of way for years, it does it in a way that makes a lot more sense given all the stuff going on with DRM, iTunes, Jobs, and now Amazon.
