Handmade Origami Paper
Thursday, January 17th, 2008
Warren, Connecticut. I’ve been working on origami boxes and decided to dive into my stash of handmade papers I’ve been collecting for years. This paper feels like a wool-cotton blend although I have no clue what the fibers are made of. It stretches the idea of what paper is. I like that.

I had forgotten that we share the origami hobbie. I love to make boxes as well and am always on the look out for interesting paper. The photo is very nice.
Pam: Glad you like it. I’ll send you some paper as you may not have access to the stuff I get in LA when I go. Stay tuned.
Richard,
if you’re looking for more unusual, high-quality papers, you should check the website of the Gmund paper mill near Munich, Bavaria. (http://www.gmund.com) They produce some very nice papers from materials like hops, cannabis, etc. It shouldn’t be difficult to acquire their products in the U.S. since they have a distributor there.
All the best,
Andy
Thanks Andy, I’m wondering if this is there stuff: Fruit and Vegetable paper. I bought it at a paper store in LA and it came from Germany.
How thoughtful of you!
