Apple hints at new Aperture
Thursday, January 31st, 2008
We’re constantly working to make Aperture an even better tool for users, and will soon release an upgrade that includes RAW format support for new cameras and other exciting new features. Please stay tuned.
My word, it’s about time. Of course, they might not release it for another year. Argh.

I think I’ve decided to switch over to Lightroom. After working with it for a week or so I regret not having tried it 6 months ago. Much, much faster on my MacBook Pro in both searching as well as actual editing. Not only is it faster but the results I’m getting are incredible. Sharpening and noise reduction are most obvious. I will miss Aperture’s integration with iWeb but really that’s about it.
Denny: I’m still using Lightroom and loving it. There are a few things I like better about Aperture but not enough to make me switch back. I’ve still not moved all of my images from Aperture to Lightroom but I’ve been processing new one in it for a while now, no problems and I agree, the tools are better, the program is faster and leaner, and Adobe seems to be updating it at a decent pace. I think you’ve made the right choice (I hope so, I’ve made the same one).
Yeah, a little late in my book. It’s been since August that I couldn’t use Aperture with my 40D. They needed to release an update sooner. I think I’ll stick with Lightroom for now.
Michaela: Good idea. I’m liking it quite a lot, not perfect but no software is.
