Narcissus
Friday, February 8th, 2008
Warren, Connecticut. I helped a friend with her Macintosh and she gave us a beautiful narcissus. It was a nice trade (the flower was really a gift): the support and information I gave her should last for a long time and this wonderful flower should do the same. We have to water the flower to keep it alive and she has to use the information to keep it alive.

Beautiful color, 100mm works fine, Richard waht about show us how you create white background ? I think to buy white lamp and make mini home studio for macros shots.
Best, Gedas
Gedas, the white background on this shot was easy, the plant was in front of a window and the field of view is very narrow.
This is your best flower photo to date, in my opinion. It is other worldly, and yet, so familiar. Brilliant!
Thanks Scott, it’s interesting in that it’s shot at f/18 so part of the appeal is that it’s very sharp (well, very sharp for me). It’s taken me some time to learn how to use aperture well and when there’s not a lot in the background it’s best to stop down quite a bit. I had a few shots at f/22 but somehow they didn’t look as good as this one. Hey Scott, you have the lens, get moving man, let’s see some St. Louis flowers.
Great shot!
Thank you David, I’m glad you like it.
