Hauser Bridge

Washington, Connecticut. The Hauser Bridge crosses the Shapaug River within The Steep Rock Preserve. It’s a cable suspension bridge with towers and two cables draped between them and attached to the center of the bridge.
The Steep Rock Land Trust is a local version of The Nature Conservancy, a non-profit group that through donations, buys up large tracts of land and keeps it wild for community use. I’ve been a member of this group for a while, they do good things and I’m glad to have places like this close to me for both walking, kayaking, mountain biking, and of course, photography.

A lovely shot Richard - really like this one and I agree, you have some stunning countryside near you, fond memories from last year and I still remember how warm it was!
Jon: This is another piece of the same place I took you, just further south along the river that little stream flows into. I too have fond memories of you lugging that big lens around the meadow. Less fond memories of getting Lyme disease… ;)
Incredibly fine image, Richard. The light on the bridge is beautiful, truly luminous.
Well done, beautiful shot.
Thank you Gary and Gedas, I only wish I had a wider lens to make it even more dramatic and catch more of the woods on the other side.
