Anne’s hand-knit baby sweaters
Sunday, April 6th, 2008
Warren, Connecticut. My wife Anne loves babies and knits and that combination has led to countless sweaters, vests, bonnets, hats, scarves, blankets and more, all hand made with love (including cat hair).
There’s nothing wrong with buying gifts and we do it more than not, but a hand-made gift that took some time, skill, thought, and love… let’s just say Anne’s karma bank runneth over.

Wilbur: I’ll pass your kind words on to Anne. The blue one is on its way to New Jersey and should reach its new owner today.
Hi, do you sell it? I was interested on the yellow sweater with the hat. If so, could you send me an email with the price and cost of shipping to Oviedo,FL 32765? Thank you, Lidiane.
my email: lidianenascimento@hotmail.com
I would love to buy the blue cardigan and hat and the waistcoat.
Are they for sale?

Anne: My wife Anne sold all of these item at an Obama fundraiser we had last summer. Sorry but I’ll let her know you liked them.
These are just wonderful!! I was wondering what the pattern is called for the middle one. I would love to knit this for a friend of mine who is having a little girl. What a great little outfit.
Thanks

Karen: My wife Anne is away until tomorrow. I’ll tell her to take a look and let you know in the next few days. Please check back. Thanks.
Karen, the pattern for the little girls’ cardigan sweater and hat comes from Fairy Tale Baby Book by Susan Bates, Book 17340, C.J Bates & Son, Chester, CT 06412. I have no idea if Susan Bates is still in business. I think this book is about 35 years old. There are several great baby sweaters in the book and some odds and ends. I hope you can find it. Good Luck. Anne W
How much is the yellow cable sweater. Thanks
Nancy, it sold long ago.
To Richard or Anne:
I have been in search of the fairytales # 17340 book for some time now and cannot find one available. Would it be possible to buy copies of these patterns from you?
Anxiously waiting your reply
Thank you Debra Beauregard

Debra: Look for my email…
I have the Fairytale Baby Book but I am missing part of page 19/20. Anyone find one yet?
Nancy: It’s out of print but my wife says someone she knows found it on eBay.
is there any way i could get that person’s name, address, number, whatever in order to get a copy of page 20? maybe they could emal the page to me? i guess i could buy the whole book even though i only need those two pages! will head to ebay right now and see if i can find it there.
found it. several actually. just didn’t want to buy a whole book when i needed only 8 or 10 lines of instructions from page 20. if your wife’s person doesn’t want to bother with sending me those lines, even in an email, it’s okay, i understand. if she would my email address is nneisen@marion.k12.mo.us thanks for your help!
Richard
I think, you might have to start a new blog…
e
Right Edward, or, maybe Anne should.
Sorry if i interrupted something here. Didn’t mean to impose. Bye
Nancy, you didn’t interrupt a thing. I have to wait for my wife to come home from school to see if she still has the book and I can copy the pages. Take it easy, no need to get in a huff. I’ll find out tomorrow after I dig us out of the snow we’re having.
i’m back. i’m sorry i guess i don’t understand blogs and you having to start a new one. it just sounded kinda strange and i felt like i wasn’t suppose to be asking about help with this book. sorry if i misunderstood what you were implying. :(
what is a blog and why did you start this one? fun, i’ll learn something today.
again i’m sorry, didn’t mean to offend you.
Nancy: No problem. I have the book and will scan the pages later today.
Nancy, check your email.
checked and loving it!!! check yours
Ok, one more time, it’s me again. Forget my earlier posts. I had googled the book title that you mentioned, and a picture of the book came up and I thought, gee, this looks familiar to me. So I looked through my mother’s stash of pattern books, and I found it!!! She had actually made this sweater for my niece, over 33 years ago. Now I know why I liked it so much when I saw yours. I am going to start this sweater tonight! Hope I can do it as well as you, Anne. You do lovely work. Lucille
