Kite Aerial Photography by Nicolas Chorier.
Fantastic images from above of people, places, things with great shadows. Done with a medium format camera and film. Dang, that’s some kite to get a big, heavy camera up there.

WOW! Some great photos, thanks Richard. I really like the Burning Man ones - I have an inkling to attend this at some point… Have you been?
Best,
Jon
Never been to Burning Man. Might have been something I’d have done in my youth but now it looks a bit out there for me. Great photos though, I agree.
Now that I’ve made the link right (somehow another kite aerial link got in there) check it again Jon.
he must be REALLY good - I would be really worried about getting my camera down without smashing it into something…very cool.
Caitlin: Right, I couldn’t make images like that even if I were sitting in a chair on a helicopter. The dude is good. Of course, maybe he took 1000 to get 1. Still, not bad.
check out another master at arial photo trully amazing (and he is also french):

Nice Edward, although I can’t stand sites that resize my screen. Ugh. Still, nice work.
yes I agree on the site but he is one of the most famous aria photographer well cartier bresson did some good picture too ;)
Hi guys!
We’re not talking about same things here… Arthus Bertrand uses choppers, I only use kites ti lift my camera. There is a huge difference in the way, and in the global intention.
lol
Thanks Richard!
Nico: Right you are. I think Edward (who is French) was interested in name dropping a fellow countryman. I do have another kite photographer on here: Scott Haefner, although it looks like he’s using digital cameras, not film.
Richard I wasn’t interested in name dropping I was just thinking of the similarity of the 2 type of photo more aerial, kite do fly ;)
anyways thanks so much for posting yes it isent the same but similar
Edward: I was just poking at you. Be cool old man.
Richard I know and I am cool and and it is all good.
