Soldier Sues Army, Saying His Atheism Led to Threats
People like you are not holding up the Constitution and are going against what the founding fathers, who were Christians, wanted for America!
If it’s a Christian nation what the heck are the rest of us doing here? Are we here on a guest pass?
No doubt a growing number of Christians outside the military share this belief (although I doubt Jerimiah Wright does) and during the Bush years this number has grown.
It’s pretty scary stuff for us outsiders.

Growing up as a military brat with a high-ranking-officer father, I’ve seen my share of this - and much more. Thanks for the link Richard.
BTW… Brad Willett?
Do you know Brad? He’s in Eugene, Oregon.
No I don’t. I thought maybe he had a blog that had a narrative on the article.
Greg: Brad doesn’t have a blog, just feeds his friends…
That is terrible. Religion is the biggest disguised problem in the world today IMHO.
Ah, i’ve gotten some great resources from you Richard :) Was hoping for a new one.
Makes me furious! I agree with Jon’s view.
Yeah, it’s a problem when people use religion like a flag pin.
Religion, regardless of where or what the heck it is, be it Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism or Jainism or whatever magical teapot of Pink Invisible Unicorn it is… is the greatest disgrace to the man kind.
For all i know, all religion agree upon one thing universally. Quarantining menstruating women. I wonder, if they can be quarantined for their evolutionary sexual cycle what about masturbating men? I mean, thats our natural cycle too.
In my sincere opinion, the religion takes a back foot and is confined to where it belongs the world will be a far better plays. There wont be anti-sematism, mohammend wont blow himself up in front of an orphanage killing 100’s in the name of allah, stupid hindu’s won’t die of crap for which they dont take medicines for and Christians wont kill innocent Africans by devoiding them of condoms and abortion.
Dilip: Careful, don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater… not all religions treat women the same way and all religions have their orthodox groups as well as their close to secular groups and everything in between.
If you feel the way you do, you might be interested in the thinking and writing of two people: the evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and the writer Christopher Hitchens. I think they both pretty much say what you seem to think. I think you saw the Hitchens video on this site a while ago. I find his argument appealing but I don’t agree with its blanket statements.
Dogma is dogma on either end of the religion argument.
Should have mentioned it the other day but a few of the founding fathers were atheists too. I suppose his superior officer didn’t know that.
Good one greg. This whole “Christian nation” thing scares the likes of me.
Next time you’re in PA (or i’m near you) we need to have some wine and chat! ;)
Greg: Anytime mate, let me know. Maybe meet up in New York sometime when things get warmer.
Now you’re talking! I love NYC, just not at Christmas time.
You say when, I’m there. We could meet at B&H… hehe.
