This is there normal spring sale which is sometimes a rebate and this time is an "instant rebate" because they've had such a rough time with rebate fulfillment. Have you ever noticed anything like that happening? Amazon's current prices are slightly cheaper for some items. The 40D is $50 less and the 17-55mm f2/8 IS lens is currently $40 less.
