Netflix to Sell a Device for Instantly Watching Movies on TV Sets
Unlike the Apple TV or TiVo devices, the Roku box does not have a hard drive. It plays video directly from the Internet by way of an Ethernet cable or home wireless network. That means that the picture could freeze on slow Internet connections. Roku recommends that users have a connection speed of 1.5 megabits a second or faster.
Oh boy, here we go. Glad I’ve not bought anything yet including an HD TV. This whole area is wide open.

Interesting. I love the Apple TV rigged up to a Pioneer Plasma (HD), but we still cannot buy films yet via Apple. When that happens, and in HD, I will be happy.
My meagre internet connection will have no chance with streaming - your connection on the other hand, will be fine!
Jon, yes, we have the bandwidth but not the technology. Just not into it yet. In due time. This is a situation where waiting can do nothing but good: lower prices on TV, devices and delivery sorted out.
