WordPress for iPhone

Introducing the first Open Source app that lets you write posts, upload photos, and edit your WordPress blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch. With support for both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (2.5.1 or higher).
Dang, this is very cool. I’m quite loyal to MarsEdit as a non-web based editor (I use it to post to and edit this blog) and no doubt its author, Daniel Jalkut is coming out with an iPhone/Touch version of it sometime soon. Still, nice to see the WordPress folks doing this.

So far it’s working quite well. The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that the time stamps for my posts are off.
I have a post schedule for today at 2:05pm, but on the iPhone app it says, today at 6:05pm.
Diana: Fantastic. Do you use marsedit to post to your blog as well? Just curious.
Off topic, I noticed that the RSS feed on your about page is not for the entire blog, just for that page. Is that the way you wanted it? If so, no problem, I clicked on it thinking it was for the whole site though.
Thanks for the note about the RSS feed. I’m still working on revising the site and didn’t put a full URL in the link, so it was prefixing it with the path the user was at. I fixed it :)
I’ve gone back and forth between MarsEdit and Ecto. Ecto has so much potential but it’s almost like it’s too much, so I’ve gone back to MarsEdit, but I need to break down and buy it. In the meantime I’ve been writing through the web interface.
Diana: I used Ecto for a while a few years ago but somehow I have less faith in it being cross platform. MarsEdit is a Macintosh program and feels like one and for me that’s meaningful. Daniel is doing great things with it since taking it over from Brett. There was just an update today.
