Lightroom 2 released to suspecting public
I didn’t play with the beta and will no doubt upgrade at some point but I think I’ll wait for 2.1. No rush, the current version works fine for me.
I’ve got the beta on my laptop but haven’t played with it yet. The one feature that really interests me is the ability of the library to be contained on multiple hard drives. This would be awesome.
I could have my 2006 and back on an external, 2007 and current locally but see them all in one library when connected up.
Diana, for what it’s worth Aperture did that in version 1. What you’re after is important for professional photographers for sure. As I teeter on the brink of professionalism I guess it would be useful to me too. Dang, I’d really rather be an amateur.
Here’s a more “official” list of release notes: New in Lightroom 2.0.
Looks great, but I am disgusted at Adobe’s pricing once again. Almost twice as expensive in the UK compared to the US. Outrageous.
And you wonder why the pirate industry is accelerating?
Jon: I wonder why there’s a higher price for you? That seems odd to me. I don’t mind the price, I’m just in no rush to upgrade as my current process is working fine. I’ve heard that the 2.0 version slows things down a bit and that, I don’t want. I’m betting the 2.1 version will get the speed back up.
