My old friend Scott James nailed a nice picture of a female ruby throated hummingbird. Way to go Scott.

Wow – I sit up at my cabin in the woods and watch these guys for HOURS and I always think that taking a photo of them that would begin to do them justice is impossible. But I stand corrected – this is an amazing photo. And he managed to make one of the scrappiest, feistiest birds look sane and calm. Well done!
