Vincent Laforet shows us how to do Equipment Packing - Olympic Style.
Now that’s some serious gear.
ohhh yes, thats really serious, he is canon man!
Holy Cow, that indeed is a lot of gear to pack. I see no clothes though. I wonder what he does for clothes :P
Dilip, he wears those big lens hoods.
or he cover up his back with the backpack and the front with cameras. serious equipment for sure.
e
Edward, right, use those cameras and other photographic gear as clothing. I mean, why not? Yes, serious equipment but if one is assigned to cover the Olympics this is what to take. The big deal is, how to become skilled enough to:
1. Use all of that gear knowledgeably;
2. Get asked to cover the Olympics.
Thank god I am neither that skillful or that well known. A local wedding is more than enough for me.
hahaha yes and I have to say i am sure that bringing the equipment is a small part of the battle being with tones of other photographer and trying to stand out of the pack is the hard part because there will be tones of people there I wander if the cat had to carry some of the equipment out
e
Edward, the other photographers don’t bother me and I doubt they bother Vincent. He has his own style and his own process. It’s just a lot of logistics and work to make it all happen.
This is all about workflow: not just getting the images off of your card and into the computer for processing every day, but cleaning, fixing, packing, and traveling to a photo shoot, planning the shoot, and doing the work, day in and day out.
It’s all about process. Take more pictures Edward and make your own process. Print them too. You now have enough paper to make lots of prints.
wow, a lot of kit there!!! how does someone get into the level of fotography like Vincent has?
Rod: He’s quite a skilled photographer and that skill doesn’t come easy, takes a lot of work over many years.
And, according to him he buys it all, Canon doesn’t give him anything. I’m sure he gets a discount but gad, the big lenses alone are in the area of $5K each.
