Spice Jar

Warren, Connecticut. I’ve been waiting for the black peppercorns we had in this jar to run out so I could shoot it and to my disappointment it turns out it’s a cheap piece of glass with an uneven bottom and big mould marks on it. It does the job as a spice jar but I prefer better quality glass for a "model."

Before I read your comments about this jar, I was thinking that I liked it. Even though it is cheap and full of marks, the little guy has his own integrity. Maybe because I’m a wabi-sabi type.

Sheryl, right, those wabi-sabi types can see beauty in anything. Thank god for you dear.
It’s fine as it is, a wabi-sabi image with character.
hey, can you show us setup of this shot ? ;]
Gedas: I can’t show you but I can easily tell you. This is on my kitchen table which has a window behind it and to the left of it. I’m on a tripod with a 300mm lens at table top height (low angle to the object). That’s pretty much it. No flash. No kitchen lights on. 100 ISO and a remote switch.
