LA Times: Happiness is contagious, research finds
A study of the relationships of nearly 5,000 people tracked for decades in the Framingham Heart Study shows that good cheer spreads through social networks of nearby family, friends and neighbors.

Still, the researchers said, it is not clear if increased communication via e-mail messages and Webcams may eventually lessen the distance effect. In a separate study of 1,700 Facebook profiles, they found that people smiling in their photographs had more Facebook friends and that more of those friends were smiling.
I’m very connected but I’m not as happy as I’d like to be. Maybe time to tweak those connections and make sure I only connect with people who show pictures of themselves smiling.
Of course it is. I Just got an XBOX 360 and all my friends are coming home tomorrow. We’re gonna be DUI all night. :D

This article made me 32.7% happier than I was before I read it. But if I read it again tomorrow, I will probably only be 22.4% happier. Writing this email is making me 4.1% happpier than just reading the article!
