There is a group on flickr: Inauguration 2009.
Join the world in commemorating the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. Whether you’re attending the event or witnessing it from afar, please share a photo taken that day for the world to see.
There’s already some great stuff in there and lots of discussion in the threads on rules for cameras (no bags or tripods outside the press area) and more.
A piece of me wishes I was there but I’m liking sitting here with Anne and Kitty by the woodstove just fine. I think I’ll crack another beer.
Interesting batch of photos there…..it’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm for Obama on the eve of his inagauration. This is an amazing time in American history, great that so many people are celebrating our new, much-needed president.
Right Gary. The great thing about all of that is that in addition to the high end images we’ll get from professional photographers we’ll also get a load of cell phone and amateur images from “regular old people” (like us).
I love the energy of those images and they capture a kind of spirit that the pros don’t always see from their vantage points.
This was true during the campaign too.
