MacHEADS

MacHEADS is a “fanboy documentary” about Apple, the Macintosh, and the community of dedicated users who quickly formed around both company and computer.
Justin Blanton told me that this image of my mother appears in the film at the 30:25 mark and in fact, it does. The film people asked me about use of it a while back and I okayed it. I had forgotten all about it.
The irony is that I was given my first Macintosh by Steve Jobs in 1984, I started a very early Macintosh users group in Eugene, Oregon, and have had many close ties with the company over the years but I have no place in the movie. My 93 year old mother in her MacGeek t-shirt makes the movie. There’s no justice in this world
You can purchase the movie for download through the iTunes Music Store. It’s great and worth buying for download.

Congratulations to you and your Mom for her five seconds of fame.
Thanks Mike, I wish they dwelled on the image long enough for people to realize she’s 93 but she really doesn’t look her age so it would probably be for naught.
If it is ANY consolation: when people gawk at my Mac Geeky-ness, I tell them all about MY introduction to the Mac Plus, which is ENTIRELY your fault, and the gateway drug (for me) into the world of Apple computers (and products). You had me hooked at the ripe old age of like 7. And now, and the riper age of (almost) 30, I am a Mac peep for life. For which I am eternally grateful to you.
I still have old floppies from that time that have MacWrite on the ‘bootup’ disk. Yup. I think they’re 500k or something.
Congratulations to your Mom and you! You definitely should have been in the movie ;)
Just downloaded it and will watch it this weekend. I’ve been a long time Mac geek, well 1995. I know there are those who’ve got at least 10 years on me there. They’re great machines and it’s a great community to be a part of.
Caitlin: Ah, the good old days of you with your feet up in that small room in Dobbins house with a Mac, giving me the stink eye.
Diana: Well, I was in the background of many of the scenes in the movie, both figuratively and in some cases literally. Those were good times and this movie definitely captures the feeling and spirit of them.
Ah brilliant! Congrats all round :-)
