Deal Brings TV Shows and Movies to YouTube
In another step in its transformation from an online jumble of amateur videos to a destination for mainstream TV programs and movies, YouTube said Thursday that it had signed deals with Hollywood studios to showcase thousands of TV episodes and hundreds of movies on its Web site.
I’m loving this convergence in yet another space. Works for me.
Richard, this is an interesting development, especially since YouTube content can be viewed with Apple TV. Isn’t Steve Jobs on Disney’s board? It would certainly make Apple TV even more interesting to many potential buyers.
All the best,
Andreas
Andreas: Not only can youTube be views on AppleTV but also on the iPhone. There’s a stand-alone app for it that comes standard.
It’s hip among some to poo poo youTube but I think it’s an incredible tool, a real winner in the move to merge video content with the internet.
