Eskenazi’s photographs are superb at capturing Russia at that time. He’s got a real gift for documentary photography; it’s great that his book Wonderland is selling out and he’s winning a major award. I hope he’s able to quit his day job as a guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and return to photography.
I love photographs that make me wonder on what planet, in which alternative universe they were taken. This guy has a HUGE talent, and I like his attitude, too.
