Soda Pop Stop

John Nese is the proprietor of Galcos Soda Pop Stop in Los Angeles. You have to love this guy and if I lived in LA and drank soda I’d buy it from him. What a great guy with a great philosophy.
Note: Andrew is on a roll today.

My favorite local (Detroit) pop, and one of the two oldest remaining soda pops in the U.S. (the other is Hires Root Beer) is Vernors Ginger Ale developed in 1866. My other favorite is Faygo Rock and Rye which my kids think tastes like cough syrup. Maybe that’s why I like it so much!
Bill: I tried Vernors Ginger Ale (I think you gave it to me) and almost gagged. A developed taste no doubt.
I want to try that cherry one: “the cherriest of the cherry.”
And ginger ale: the stronger the better. Some of these sodas would inspire great mixed drinks…
This guy could make a convert out of me…glad I am not in LA.
I was just in LA sheryl and I was sorely tempted to drive down there just to meet him and photograph the store. Maybe next time…
