Tea on the AT

Kent, Connecticut. My hiking buddies are each away and I needed to get out of the house so I hiked up on the Appalachian Trail north of Kent and this image is taken just above St. John’s Ledges where I did some rock climbing 20 years ago. The Housatonic River is in the valley behind me.
These days the weather is changing and if you stop with a wet shirt you cool down fast so I brought some home made chai tea in a thermos to warm up with. Definitely made my day.

Wow, that is truly a great place to have a cup of tea.
Jonne: It really is. I hope you can join me in a hike and tea someday, that would be great fun. Gary will be here in two weeks and weather permitting we’ll be up on this trail often.
I would love to join you. Hopefully we could meet in person some day.
Richard: “Tea on the AT” looks like a very fine place to hike and have a tea break. Can hardly wait to go there with you!
Gary: It’s covered in a bit of snow right now but maybe by the time you get back back here it will be clear again. We’ll get up there…
Looking good Richard. If one intent of a photograph is to bring the viewer into the scene, then this one works.
Being a hiker myself, I’m right there. Gonna brew up some chai right now…especially since at 6 am here in Bend, Oregon, it’s minus 7 freaking degrees.
Happy holidays to you and Anne.
Thanks Sandy. We’re in the middle of a big snow storm right now. Not super cold but lots of snow on the ground and more coming down as I write this.
Looks like hiking this week will be snowshoeing.
I’m headed to Florida tomorrow and giving my 88 year old dad and 83 yr old mom their first ever computer, an iMac, complete with a week of my tutoring them through the basics.
I’ll probably be ready for snowshoeing after that (and a bottle of wine:)
Be well
Good luck Sandy. Tough stuff you’re getting into.
