This is a collection of images of our late cat Kitty who was born March 27, 1989 and was put to sleep December 2, 2009. She had an amazing life and I hope these images will give you a taste of it.
We had this cat from the time she was a wee kitten but I don’t think we have any images of her then. Maybe some will surface. More images will be added to this collection as they turn up.
Here are a few more images taken by Gary Sharp on one of his many trips to our house in Connecticut: Gary’s Images of Kitty.

Very nice slide show of her everyday life.
Thanks Jonne, I was hoping it would be fun to browse through. It was for me anyway. As a fellow Macintosh user I’m sure you can see some of the arc of history in those early shots, like the 2400 baud modem!
Just Beautiful. Its a sketch on film that paints the history of Kitty’s life in a beautiful picture. I’m so sorry to see Kitty go. Sometimes you wish “A cat has nine lives” was literally true.
Aw!!! Wonderful photos Richard – thanks so much for sharing :-)
Dilip: Given how many adventures and misadventures she had, I’d say she had her nine and then some. Glad you enjoyed it, including the old stuff.
Jon: It’s fun looking back twenty years. Kitty’s life spanned the Mac, the internet, the birth of digital photography and more. Nice time to live actually.
She had a wonderful 20 years, and as you say, saw some rather significant changes!
I’ve just shown Kate the photos and we were both smiling and of course sad.
Speak soon and do send our best wishes to Anne too,
Jon
Thanks Jon (and Kate). Hope to see you over on this side of the pond soon.
I greatly enjoyed the entire slide show, and watched it twice; I’m really glad you put it together. What a terrific cat, it’s very sad that she’s gone. The slide is a wonderful, loving tribute to her and she’ll live on long in our memories. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hey Gary, I know you have shots of her. If so, let me know where they are and I’ll change the mechanism of the slide show to show all images based on tag rather than my “kitty” set.
great slide show, still thinking of you… to me it is about your cat but also the evolution of your photographic art and your technology.
Edward: Exactly. The Kitty’s life spanned an amazing time. And, my friendship with you has spanned the same arc of time as well. Actually, I knew you a few years before the Kitty.
I love this. Very clear how entangled she was in the everyday and both of your identities. Made me tear up again :(. We just need to add one of her favorite songs and burn it to CD.
Michaela, Sorry to make you tear up. My intension was just short of that ;)
She wasn’t a big music fan, preferring to come into a room that was quiet rather than a room with even ambient music playing. Sensitive ears no doubt although her last years she was definitely growing deaf.
