Kottke on Chatroulette
Sunday, February 7th, 2010
Jason Kottke reviews a new video conferencing site called Chatroulette (chat roulette). Connect with random people all over the world, no moderation, no rules, just a video and voice connection with god knows who or what on the other end. The site has no appeal for me but Kottke’s review of it is one of the best blog posts I’ve ever read. Read it, it’s funny as hell. If you have the guts to try Chatroulette let me know, I’d love to hear what you think.
five minutes on chatroulette saw no toms or harrys but plenty of dicks. brave new world. im gonna make some cocoa.
You go first, I’m busy reading a book!
sheryl: Wow, you are one brave woman.
Oh boy, now there’s Chatroulette Missed Connections. The Craig’s List of Chatroulette:

It’s funny how Omegle is a spin-off of anicechat.net and Chatroulette a spin-off of Omegle! I think anicechat.net deserves some respect, as it was the first. Create a facebook group and spread the truth, anyone?
I’m not on facebook anymore so I’m not the one to do that and many times early applications don’t get traction because they’re too early, then a newer one comes along when the time is right and becomes popular. It’s not that the early one was bad, just ahead of its time.
Luck of the draw.
