Ice on Schaghticoke Ridge
Wednesday, February 15th, 2012
Schaghticoke Ridge, Appalachian Trail, Kent, Connecticut. This is one of our favorite hikes in the area, from Bull’s Bridge to Kent on the AT. Near the New York/Connecticut border we crossed a little stream that had some nice ice on it. Had to stop and see if I could capture some patterns.

Hi Richard
I’m finding your ice pattern pictures very inspiring. I don’t normally wish for cold weather, but Im hoping for some ice here in the uk that I can go and photograph!
Cheers.
Jason
Thanks Jason. I’ve been having a lot of fun with these and the great thing is, they print well too. It doesn’t take that much of a deep freeze to find these patterns, they’re generally in streams but also in puddles in paths that are frozen over. I thought you were having a rough winter over there. Maybe the snow is covering the ice! Let me know if you find some, I’d love to see your take on it.
Richard
these shots keep on getting better and better :)
Thanks Edward, I’m printing one of them today…
