Nate Silver at Google
Tuesday, December 4th, 2012
Nate Silver joins Hal Varian (Google’s Chief Economist) to talk about his book “The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail-but Some Don’t” and answer Googler questions.
This is an incredible discussion with Nate Silver at Google, and while it’s somewhat about politics, it’s also about larger issues of polling, marketing, and more.
The discussion is about an hour long but well worth watching in its entirety. Make the time and enjoy a brilliant yet humble mind.

Richard I tried so hard with this but my geek quotient failed me miserably. About the five thousandth time Nate Silver said “RIGHT??,” I just couldn’t do it…
However, I do want to read his book because he is a brilliant fellow geek, indeed!
;-)
Sheryl: The “right” thing I think is sort of his gay side, not his geek side. I don’t know if he’s gay but it’s rumored.
There are big ideas embedded in with all that geeky stuff, I loved this discussion and I’m about as statistically challenged as they come.
