Reflection, bubbles, and ice in Schaghticoke brook
Friday, January 11th, 2013
New York, Connecticut border south of Kent, Connecticut. Dave and I hiked from Bull’s Bridge north along the Appalachian Trail along Schaghticoke Ridge with this small stream as our destination.
The trail was quite slippery and both of us were feeling our age but were too proud (and lazy) to put on microspikes which would have made it easier.
There is a small waterfall at the top of this frame that was putting out some nice bubbles and one of them floated down to me and stopped just as I was shooting; I had the perfect self-portrait reflection in the bubble. The bubble pooped and I didn’t know if I got the shot. Alas, I didn’t. I could have waited a while for another bubble to form but we were getting cold so we packed up and hiked back down with great care to not fall on the ice.

Excellent reflection shot!
