Grass and ice
West Cornwall, Connecticut. We went back to the Pine Swamp beaver ecosystem again last week on an extremely cold day. Taking pictures, even with glove liners on was rough but the ice looked great so we tried.

Gorgeous ice images, Richard! It looks to me like it was well worth the trip in such cold weather. I’d love to see Grass and Ice and Ice Bubbles as prints.
Thanks Gary. I’m way behind on both posting and printing. I’m working on a set of notecards from my last Getty trip, then I’ll get to making some prints of this new ice. It’s been a lot of fun tracking it down and trying to learn how to shoot it. Focusing is a serious challenge; the contrasting edges the camera looks for are sometimes under the surface so things are a bit out of focus. If I really wanted to do this right I’d use a tripod and manually focus. Then I’d really freeze my you know what’s off!
